Maple Grove Middle School’s Michael Herdan named semifinalist for 2026 Minnesota Teacher of the Year
Michael Herdan, an eighth grade social studies teacher at Maple Grove Middle School (MGMS), was recently named one of 30 semifinalists for Minnesota Teacher of the Year 2026, a list narrowed from an original 128 candidates for this year’s award.

Education Minnesota has released 128 candidate names for the 2026 Minnesota Teacher of the Year award, and this year two teachers from Osseo Area Schools are among the list of candidates:

Osseo Area Schools celebrated Veterans Day across the district on Nov. 11. Here’s a sampling of how schools commemorated the holiday and honored our nation’s veterans,

While the 2025-26 school year is still young, Osseo Area Schools is already making preparations for a smooth transition to new attendance boundaries at the elementary and middle school level for the fall of 2026.
